Number of Participants
8 - 20 works best
Time frame
5-25 minutes
Necessary Components.
Exactly one less poly dot than the number of players you have.
Purpose
This is one of the easiest and most well known get to know you type of games. This version has been adapted to be played easier with groups of students and to allow this common kids game to flow better as a structured activity.
Demonstration / guide
First is the set up of the game. Which for this one is pretty simple. I am going to layout my poly dots in roughly a circle. Ensuring that I have exactly one less than the number of people that are going to play. Before beginning to play I am going to ask everyone to go ahead and ask everyone to find a poly dot.
Here I'm going to remember to always be appropriate and kind with their questions.
Now how this game works is the person standing in the center asks a question. “I Have tried lobster!” Everyone who is in the circle who has tried Lobster must not move to a different poly-dot.
This ends with one person not being able to find a poly Dot and now being the center. this person now gets to ask the next question. which could be something much more ordinary that causes everyone to move instead of just a few, like “summer is my favorite time of year.”
The game continues until the guide cuts it off
Explaining the requirements (Simplified 2nd person cheatsheet) (1 Page)
Place poly-dots in a circle.
Leave one less than number of players
Place yourself in the center
Explain that if you ‘have’ done what the question asks, you must now find a new poly dot to stand on.
Example: “I have worn blue jeans”
Everyone who has worn blue jeans must now move to different spot
Another example: “I have been to a summer camp.”
Everyone who has been to a summer camp must now move.
This continues until the guide ends the game.
